EDC’s success is driven by our talented and dedicated employees. Our goal is to attract and retain the best in the industry. In addition to positions in construction operations, EDC offers career opportunities to individuals with broad ranges of experience including estimating, marketing, human resources and accounting. EDC is seeking qualified professionals for the following positions:
PROJECT MANAGER:
EDC Project Managers lead the project team by providing hands-on expertise. Based in our Richmond office, they travel on a regular basis to project sites. Project Managers are in charge of supervising all business aspects of a construction project, including Owner and Architect communication, submittals, procurement, budgeting and scheduling. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in construction, architecture, engineering or related field experience and five or more years of relevant experience.
SUPERINTENDENT:
EDC Superintendents are field-experienced and equipped with the latest technology including digital cameras, laptop computers and e-mail access that allows them to provide real-time information to the entire project team. Our Superintendents provide daily supervision of on-site safety, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and quality assurance. Qualifications include five or more years of industry experience.
PROJECT COORDINATOR:
The Project Coordinator facilitates communication and provides support between the field and management teams. These office-based team members work behind the scenes to assure contract compliance. Their assistance in both project setup and closeout is essential and their diligence allows the rest of the team to focus on their primary roles.
ESTIMATOR:
EDC Estimators work closely with the project management team to ensure that projects are priced competitively, include qualified subcontractors, and meet the clients' time and budget constraints. EDC Estimators' early involvement in project planning is critical to the orderly execution of the projects once underway. Responsibilities include subcontractor relations, scope of work evaluation, quantity takeoff, bid preparation and risk assessment. Minimum qualifications include three to five years of retail construction experience and a background in construction, architecture, engineering or related field.
