The Opportunity

EDC is searching for an experienced and organized Office Manager to join the team. The Office Manager will work under the Chief of Staff and will supervise the Front Desk Administrator and work with our external IT partners to deliver a seamless experience for employees and support upper management. The Office Manager sets a tone of positivity in the office, creating a welcoming and harmonious atmosphere. The ideal candidate will be continually thinking ahead and researching future needs, working to stay ahead of the curve. This is an in-office position with no travel required.


What You’ll Do 

  • Organize programs, events, and conferences by arranging facilities and services, issuing information and invitations, and controlling event budgets
  • Monitor the status of subcontractors’ insurance certificates and license documentation
  • Oversee facility management, ensuring the office and office kitchens are kept clean, orderly, and professionally maintained
  • Managing upkeep of office building, such as roof and building repairs, HVAC maintenance, etc.
  • Prepare and manage the overhead budget for the Chief Financial Officer
  • Ensure office complex grounds are managed and maintained, overseeing the billing of tenants for shared services such as snow removal, pest control and landscaping
  • Work with the Front Desk Administrator to oversee maintenance, supplies, shipping, and deliveries for office, as well as administrative duties such as interfacing with clients, welcoming visitors to the office, and answering phone calls
  • Manage and procure all EDC tech software, fire and security systems, and office technology such as cell phones and laptops, looking for ways to improve efficiency and process where possible
  • Offer basic IT support to employees such as password recovery or basic troubleshooting, liaising between EDC and contracted IT professionals for more complex issues
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to onboard new hires by setting up devices and passwords
  • Maintain up-to-date list of EDC Shareholders, employee birthdays, employee names and titles, and EDC door key holders
  • Perform other duties as assigned


What We Expect from You 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 2+ years of IT experience – knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe suites required, Sage/Timberline knowledge a plus
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize competing tasks and deadlines, and efficiently manage time
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail
  • Problem-solving, self-motivation, and self-direction skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion, especially when dealing with sensitive information
