Built in 1982, the Dover Mall completed its first major renovation in 1992, with the addition of a JC Penney.  In 2007 Simon Properties  acquired Dover Mall and hired EDC to add a 53,000 SF Dick’s Sporting Goods in 2013.  The Dick’s Sporting Goods store required the partial demolition of the enclosed mall to accommodate the higher ceiling height and provide access off of the interior concourse with a new interior store entrance.  The new Dick’s Sporting Goods store also provided a new exterior entrance from the existing parking field with half of the box being additional gross building area added on the exterior of the mall envelope.  The new interior store entrance, storefront and display windows were integrated seamlessly into the existing mall concourse and interior finishes.
